Meet Cheri
Founder & Marketing Strategist
Cheri brings over two decades of global experience in the dynamic world of tourism, having travelled and worked across 25 countries as a scuba diving instructor, sportfishing guide, and snowboard instructor. Her travels gave her a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives, but it was returning to the breathtaking landscapes of her home island, Newfoundland, that truly inspired her love of storytelling through place and experience.

Her professional journey began in commercial photography at NSCC and led to an eight–year venture as a freelance wedding and portrait photographer. Working behind the lens honed her eye for detail, aesthetics, and the art of capturing authentic moments; skills that have naturally evolved into social media management, creative design, and digital marketing.
Back in the tourism industry, Cheri spent three years as Marketing & Events Coordinator for White Hills Resort, gaining invaluable behind–the–scenes insights. She then served as Manager of Market Readiness with Legendary Coasts of Eastern Newfoundland, helping tourism operators develop marketing strategies, secure funding, and create authentic and meaningful visitor experiences. Along the way, she built strong connections with regional tourism partners and continues to align her work closely with Newfoundland & Labrador’s tourism goals.
Cheri founded Elevate to support tourism operators and small businesses across Newfoundland & Labrador — businesses with incredible stories to tell, but not always the time or capacity to market themselves consistently. Since then, Elevate has grown to work with festivals, tourism organizations, operators, and businesses across the province and beyond, helping them build their presence, connect with audiences, and grow.
Cheri thrives on collaboration, creativity, and staying ahead of trends in a fast–evolving industry, bringing energy and dedication to every project. She leads Elevate with a hands-on, collaborative approach and a genuine love for helping businesses and organizations tell their stories and move their marketing forward.
